We've been thankful for John and Noel Piper over the years for so many reasons.
When we were stepping forward towards adoption the first time...we shared this quote in a letter to our friends and family:
"God is graciously involved in adoptions. He has done it Himself.
He knows what it costs. And He stands ready to support us all the way to the end."

We had no idea at the time that our daughter Selah would be born with the disease Pompe and would eventually die. Or how God would truly support us far beyond "the end".
A year after her death...I posted this quote:
"Joy is protected from being flippant by steady sorrow.
Sorrow is protected from being fatal by steady joy."

God is so faithful and so real.
Our adoption of Lydia was finalized in 2009 and she is so much JOY !
Through their writing and speaking, John and Noel have reminded us to ask questions that helped us sort through the fear, the grief, and the confusion:
Who is God?
Do we trust Him?
What is God asking us to do?
What will most bring Him glory?
I'm so thankful for the Pipers and for their impact on our lives.
