One of My All Time Favorite Resources for Kids and/or Homeschool

I've mentioned God's World News as a favorite resource so many times and have promised so many people that I'd email them the link...that I decided to just officially share why we like this magazine for children.

God's World News is the children's version of World Magazine.
It is available in a different format, with age appropriate content, for the following age groups:

Early Edition (PreK-1)
Taking Off (Grades 2 & 3)
News Current (Grades 4 & 5)
Top Story (Grades 6 - 9)
World for Students (Grades 10 - adult)

In each monthly edition, news stories from around the world are examined from a biblical worldview.  In the subscription option for PreK - Grade 1, the news stories are written for an early-reader, with supplemental material for a parent to read that gives more details about the different news topics.

Our kids have really enjoyed learning about current events around the world and when they see news stories in the paper or online or on the news, they often make connections with what they've been reading in God's World News.

Each subscription also include an insert titled "Teaching God's World News" with suggestions for how to use the news stories as part of a homeschool curriculum.  Discussion topics, writing topics, biographies, crafts and correlating Bible passages are included.

About God's Word News (from the GWN website):

Biblical Worldview--

It is the most important goal of Christian education. It's also the mission of God's World News monthly magazines using current events to develop Christian thinking and character.

News, Knowledge,
Wisdom, and Action
Each issue of God's World News provides engaging and challenging content written from a Biblical viewpoint.

News — Stories are selected and presented to show how our merciful, sovereign God is active in the world.

Knowledge — Loaded with practical tools (explainers, maps, charts, graphs, and illustrations) to educate and provide students the knowledge needed truly to understand important issues and events.

Wisdom — Written to build discernment and biblical perspective, so young people learn to think in a Christian way about what is happening in God's world.

Action — Students are encouraged to recognize ways to act upon what they have learned — to become not only "hearers," but "doers," in the spirit of James 1:22.
