The Tension and The Cost

There's a tension in the freedom--
Sit down and count the cost.

Those believing seekers, saved--
To renounce the me and mine.

All calling "Father", forgiven--
To live and serve Him Lord.

Through grace alone, redeemed--
To live--no longer I.

All thirsty longings, quenched--
To drink deeply of  His water.

Once heavy burdens, gone--
To take up His gentle yoke.

God finishing what He started--
As we, working out salvation.

A love gift, defying payment--
As our daily cross we lift.

It is He who works, within--
As the former self denied.

Apart from God, is nothing.
All possible in Him.

Let this hearing stone be witness,
This house will serve the Lord.

Let this stone-away be witness,
His work of love complete.

Sin debt, nailed on His cross-
It is finished, how great the cost.
