And how GREAT it feels to clean out, clear out--
SIMPLIFY
and get rid of stuff.

This time when I was going through the house for garage sale prep....
I honestly processed....
Yes--it's nice--
I do like it.
And it could possibly be useful.
At some point in my life I could find a way to want this...
But--
BUT--
BUT !!!
We've lived in the same place for the last 8 years and I've never used my gourmet pizza stone and now it is to the point that to feed our family I would need 3 pizza stones, so it's time to--
Let the dream die.
Pizza is the equivalent of a "no cook night" for me.
So the reality is--
I will pretty much always opt for Papa Murphy's (with coupons) over creating my own pizza.
Conclusion:
Sell the pizza stone.
So that is what I did.
Today.
And I sold SO much other STUFF.
And gave so much away--
To my dear friends.
To the random couple who ships toys to India.
| Lydi at nap time... |
And I found treasured memories...
Of baby clothes so tiny.
And mugs-of-I-traveled-here.
And days when those clothes fit.
And old books soul imprinted.
And I love those savored moments--
Of boys directing traffic...
And costumed girls parading...
And cookies made and purchased--
by mommies loving children.
And friendships years inspired.
Of annual garage sale kinship.
Oh--can I just say it?
I know I've said it before....making the case for garage sales...
I love garage sales!
And we're still going tomorrow...so if you're in the area...
Stop by and see our treasures.
Or let us give you treasures.
Or you become our treasure.
Because for me that's half the story....
The meeting and greeting.
The smiles and bargaining.
The let's open-our-doors-and-invite-out-all-the-neighbors.
Today I made $143.50
But really--I made a lot more than that!
So...it is some work...this going through things, cleaning out things...
But--once again--I'm convinced.
I love garage sales!
And that's why I'm not posting much this week...
Because I'm busy writing the story of real, every day life.
With these people I love!
*Happily sharing with We Are THAT Family.

It looks like you had a fun and successful day! It feels good to clear things out, doesn't it?
And I love the pizza stone!! Thanks!
I've been making our pizzas from scratch lately...and the kids have enjoyed helping me out. I think they'll think it fun to be able to 'decorate' their own pizza even more....
I love love love garage sales too! I currently have a ridiculously large pile upstairs waiting to be priced. Purging my house might be my favorite "chore".
I had a Pampered Chef pizza stone I got as a wedding gift and after using it exactly once, I gave it away to my sister in law. I have never regretted it. If you're going to make your own pizza, regular ole cookie sheets work just fine.
I just bought a pizza stone, hope I used it:) I just packed up all my childrens littler toys and am planning to give them away. Love the feeling of getting organized and getting rid of stuff:)
AM--that's my favorite part...when it all becomes someone else's treasure :)
I love some of the things I came away with too!
So much fun!
I'm with ya all...it feels incredible to open a cupboard and not have things fall out into your face because there is actually SPACE!!! :)
This is an awesome post. I need to do the very same thing. My cupboards are full of items I don't use. I plan some spring cleaning to and I think I will follow your thoughts. Pictures were awesome too.
Blessings to you!
Doesn't it feel GREAT to get rid of stuff??!! I have been creating a huge pile of stuff to sell out our neighborhood garage sale this July. The really sad part is that I found a ton of stuff just 6 months ago to donate to a friend who was having a big sale to raise money for Ethiopia. Yikes!
Okay - Can I just tell you how much I am loving your blog? Enjoy the feelings & successes related to purging!
I love garage sales! I typically have one every other year, but this year I am toying with having one even though I had one last year. I love, love, love getting rid of stuff. TOo much stuff clouds my thinking!
Thank you for linking up with {friday} favorites! I had a blast reading your post and getting inspired to host my own sale. And get rid of that pizza stone....
Rachel
I love garage sales!!! Actually I love having them, not attending them. I'm no good at the fine art of bartering!!
I hate that process, but then again, you get to the point where you just can't take it anymore and you move through it, you know?
I love the thought process behind the pizza stone. :)
Stopping by {late} from the HHH!
