I wrestle with this heartache.
Knowing that your pain--
pulls my heart closer.
Your heartache--
makes our roads converge.
I would pray it away if I could.
It's that same tension.
I believe it--
"God causes all things to work together..."
(let's leave out "for our good")
It's so tempting to leave it out.
Only because it's hard to swallow...
Without the living it.
Though I believe it.
And I know you live it.
And I've lived it.
And I've swallowed it.
And now I cling to it.
That truth.
Not something to quickly throw in another's face.
Because I've been there.
When I needed His time to say "God is good always."
When I needed His time to say "for our good."
But He led me there.
And I say it:
God is good always.
And I trust Him in your life enough to--
Not say it for you...
"God causes all things to work together..."
to conform us to His image.
To the beautiful image of Christ...
To walk His love on earth.
To be His compassion on earth.
To live His grace on earth.
Sometimes only found in the the pain and the heartache.
For you tonight...sweet friend.
May He hold you close.
In the midst of heartache.
Your clinging trust--shines out His glory.
