Bob's Red Mill, Walk-a-thons, Cameras, Swimming, Racial Awareness, Cupcakes and the Start of October...

 A fun visit with Grandma and Grandpa...

Our new camera--purchased in June--is finally out of the box...

(I have a difficult time with change,
but the cute camera-strap-cover made by my friend Kim was good incentive.)

Lydia told me:

"This is Lydia's mama and this is Lydia's dad..."

"And this is Lydia."

(It's the first time she's clearly noted the differences in our skin color.)
The following day, she told Jason:
"Your skin is white.  Lydia has brown."
(I throw this in...but not casually...this is a huge new realm of parenting for us to process.
We've been considering it "in theory" for years, but it's a whole new reality
now that this precious-little-one-we-love-so-much is becoming more aware.)

Cavan's creations continue...

Cavan was pretty wiped out.

But cupcakes always bring smiles...
