...before this whole Top 25 Faith Blogs Contest is over.
I was trying to come up with something just great for this last post before the Top 25 Faith Blogs Contest ends tomorrow at 5pm PST.
We're sitting at #24 as I write this...which is highly surprising and almost unbelievable...but I'm really thankful.
Instead I decided to just share some reasons that you probably shouldn't vote for us.
Reasons you shouldn't vote for The Chuppies:
#1--Unlike most of the blogs in the Top 25 that were actually nominated for the list...
We, on a whim, decided to nominate ourselves (which was the case for most of the blogs on the larger list), never thinking that nearing the Top 25 was a possibility.
#2--I'm still not sure if 5pm PST is our time or their time,
so I keep telling people the contest ends at either 2pm or 5pm.
Very helpful.
(I'm editing this at 2pm. Apparently it wasn't 2pm because it's still going.)
#3--The Chuppies does not sound much like a "Faith Blog Title" to me...
We should be "God's Chuppies" or "Chuppies for Him" or "The Cheerful Chuppies".
But...we're not...we're just the good ol' Chuppies.
#4--I have twice now accidentally voted for the blog directly behind me...
Once when we were only ahead by 8 votes.
Nice. Right?
This is just one of the many reasons that I'm kinda shocked we're still in this thing.
#5--I changed our blog design mid-contest because my husband gave me help as my Mother's Day gift. Not a great marketing concept to switch up everything mid-way,
but who could pass up that cute squirrel now in our header?
#6--I WAY over use (...) and (--)
I'm working on that...but not very much--
#7--I wrote a tweaky email to several of the Christian bloggers currently with me in the Top 25--
basically acknowledging that I think it's crazy we're in the Top 25 with them.
Honestly--they and they and they and they and many more of them are wonderful writers
who have been blogging consistently for much longer than I have.
But they have been very welcoming and have really reached out...
#8--I took a break from Facebook for almost 2 months starting back in February,
so it's kind of humbling to admit how helpful Facebook has been in the Faith Blogs voting.
I'm still partially deactivated, so I don't get any notifications.
This means I have probably not thanked a gazillion of our incredible friends
who have been spreading the word on Facebook.
Thank you. I mean that.
#9--Most of my writing is done in pajamas.
Well--since I'm being honest here--I should probably just admit that it's a Snuggie.
I know. Attractive.
But I usually write before the kids get up... when there are still a few drops of quiet left in the house.
#10--If you vote to keep The Chuppies in the Top 25,
I may even promise you a longer recess, no homework, and candy bars in the vending machines.
I think that's what we were supposed to promise when I was running for Student Council Vice President in middle school.
I forgot to promise that.
I didn't win.
But now...more seriously...
There are 36 hours left to vote.
You could probably get in one more vote today and maybe one tomorrow.
For some, this has turned into a contest about what falls under the umbrella of faith.
You can read my heart about that in this post and the comments that follow.
What is Faith?
Ultimately--only God's answer to that question--is what matters.
And Jesus said:
I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
~John 14:6
If we don't make it through to the end, it's okay.
The Chuppies will be okay...
I'm so thankful for the friendships that have developed through this journey.
And for all the support and encouragement from our
ever-faithful-be-God's-hands-and-feet-in-real-life-community.
Our family-friends who have walked with us through much joy and sorrow in life.
But--if we do stay in the Top 25, I give you my true promise--
The same promise that has always been on our Meet The Chuppies page:
Above all else...we love God and desire to live for Him with an eternal perspective.
We know our relationship with Him is completely dependent on the redemption that took place when Jesus died on the cross for our sins and was raised with triumphant victory over sin.
We believe the Bible is God's Word and that God gave it to us as the ultimate authority in our lives. Our desire is to love God more and more, to find our purpose and satisfaction in Him.
We ask Him to help us let our light shine before others, so that they may see our good works and most importantly, give glory to our Father who is in Heaven.
~Matt 5:16

20 We love comments!:
Amen. And I voted for you (not the one below you) and I'll be expecting a longer recess on Thursday!
I vote for you because of your honesty and the comments that you have left on my other blogs (when I had them up).
And writing in PJ's is a must...like me, I write after I walk the dog :)
You always have my top vote!
Love it!! So glad that you are in still in the top 25!! Woohoo :)
I'm sorry, but writing in a Snuggie should be a huge reason TO vote for you. Writing in footie pajamas would seal the deal though ;)
Thanks Kari...it's a deal :)
Lavender friend--I just found your new one...looking forward to wandering through soon...thank you!
Phyllis--thank you so much!
Aurie--I've so enjoyed getting to know you and your sweet family...thanks for enjoying this *woo-hoo* with us! :)
Carrie :) You are the only person who has EVER given me a gift of footed pjs...we love you guys!
I just found you through Works for Me Wednesday and now I'm going to vote. This is a creative and honest list - love that! And, I overuse (...) and (--) as well, so I get it :) Good luck!
I actually found you via Living Well Wednesday rather than Circle of Moms, but anyone who writes in a Snuggie is fine by me. I love your blog!

I voted!
Oh, this made me smile!
I write in my pajamas all the time...the benefits of blogging (NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW).
You've had my vote every day that I remembered to do it! (I kept voting at different times every day so it threw off the whole "one vote every 24 hrs thing). And hey, even if you didn't win, you still did an awesome job marketing your blog! I'm taking notes. :)
Thank you all very much! Elizabeth--it's not over yet...still all of today...and for so far we're hanging in there at #24. Circle of Mom writes a short article on each Faith Blog in the Top 25 and then the list goes out to, they say, 6 million readers...thanks for helping out whenever you remembered. I didn't remember daily until the end and even then, as I mentioned, I did some "accidental" voting :)
I voted for you!I liked your honesty comments and also thoughts.
Blessings to you!
You have my vote....I'm only on 288 votes *giggles*
Jo-Anne...
Now you're 334.
That's where I *should* be. :)
So nice to meet ya...thanks for the vote...I look forward to wandering your blog a bit...and one of my dearest-dear-heart-friends is living in Australia now...makes me want to come explore "your world" a bit more!
Thanks again!
Just stumbled upon your blog ... glad I got to vote for you.
I'm just now seeing this...I hope you ended up in a good position! :)
Thanks so much to all of you...we ended up at #24.
Which is just crazy!
I'm thrilled and thankful!!!
But I'm also really glad it's over...I've decided I'm not at all cut out for "competition". It completely makes me feel awkward and drained...which may sound really silly for an on-line-click-a-thumbs-up-voting-system-competition :)
That said--I feel very thankful and totally humbled by the love and support.
For some reason, God let us stay in there, and He has my promise that I'll do my best to keep my words honoring to Him and to let my light shine...
Thankful for all of you...will get around to posting a thank you soon, but it's time get out of the Snuggie and head into the day :)
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change".
~James 1:17
Jessica--thank you for those kind words...
I know this is not truly the "Top 25 Faith Blogs List"...because you, and several others who I am sharpened by almost daily...would/should be on the "real" list.
I mean that.
Love your writing and how it draws my heart to the Lord and towards being a better mama and wife.
Love,
K
REALLY looking forward to that extra long recess today!!!
(((((huge hugs)))))
Congrats on not having to do any more "vote for summer" campaigning either!
